Messi frenzy continued to grow Wednesday night as Inter Miami continued its cup run with a victory in a penalty shootout. 

Inter Miami won its first-ever title in the Leagues Cup final on Saturday night, but David Beckham's team is already looking to add a second after 

defeating FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup quarterfinal on penalties.

After Luciano Acosta gave the MLS leaders the lead in the 18th minute, Cincinnati easily jumped out to a 2-0 lead 

before Brandon Vazquez increased the advantage eight minutes into the second half. 

When he reclaimed a goal off a Messi pass in the 68th minute, Leonardo Campana gave the visitors a chance to stay in the game. 

The World Cup winner nonetheless appeared to be in for his first loss while wearing an Inter Miami jersey. 

But ever since the Messi miracle in Miami, nothing has gone according to plan, and Wednesday was no exception. 

Messi provided inspiration for Miami's comeback once more. The Argentine produced another last-ditch act of brilliance, just like he did in his debut. 

Messi received the ball on the edge of the box in the seventh minute of extra time and sent in a beautiful pass that Campana again got his head on to send the game into overtime. 

Josef Martnez gave Miami its first advantage three minutes into the first extra period, but Cincinnati tied the score three minutes later on Yuya Kubo's goal, requiring penalties 

and Miami's second shootout in a week. 

Miami's first try in the shootout was successful thanks to Messi, and both teams were undefeated after four rounds.
